Aquila selected MobileFrame's platform because it eliminates custom programming through an intuitive, user friendly point-and-click desktop, that enables novice computer users to easily deploy sophisticated custom mobile applications. The first set of applications Aquila deployed allowed them to assign and complete work orders on their handheld devices in the field. The applications allowed their facility managers to have more detail about what and where the issues were at a quick glance. The applications were designed on a per user basis so users have access only to data the business administrator allows them to see. Data collected in the field is saved on the device and synced back to the office where Archibus tables are immediately updated.

With their first project a success, Aquila quickly deployed Inspection Applications for their Facility Group including Generator Inspection and Fire Pump-Water Treatment System Inspection Applications. The data collected in these mobile applications is integrated into Archibus, providing immediate access to the data for trend reporting. Aquila has also deployed a sophisticated Asset Inventory application to track and create records for equipment, furniture and décor that allows mobile workers to scan all the barcodes of the assets in a room to verify that the asset is already in the database. If it is, the application auto populates the building, floor and room codes for each asset. If the asset does not exist in the database, the application allows the technician to enter the data on the device and then update the Archibus database with the accurate information.
