Printronix Inc. (NASDAQ:PTNX) , the leading integrated supply-chain printing solutions manufacturer, today extended its P7000 line-matrix printing platform with the launch of a 200 lines per minute (LPM) family of printers for China and Korea. Printronix designed the P7002H and P7202H to give supply-chain and back-office users a cost-effective alternative to serial-matrix printing.

Printronix introduced the P7000 platform in July 2005 to the Americas, the European Union, the Middle East and Africa. The company completed its planned roll out of the series to users in China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam in November 2005 with the introduction of the P7000H Series. This series prints at a higher resolution to accommodate the complexities and nuances of character shapes found in many Asian languages. The P7X02H models introduced today extend the range of the P7000H Series to include lower printing speeds.

By working with customers in China and Korea to assess their printing needs, Printronix discovered that many users were wasting money and consumables and experiencing business interruption by operating light-duty serial-matrix printers for printing jobs better suited for line-matrix printing. Printronix expanded its P7000H series to a lower speed to provide these users an entry-level line-matrix printer ideal for their printing needs.
