Tout The Efficiency Gains Of Bar Codes
By Mike Monocello, Business Solutions magazine
In today's economy, one of the most important things a manufacturer can do is get away from relying on manual processes and paper to trace production. Indeed, many companies have cut staff, making workforces do more with less. A bar-coding application is a great way for these companies to become more efficient while reducing costs. Case Study: Honeywell Mobile Computers Help Streamline Ticket Admissions System For Ticketcorner
By Honeywell
Companies such as Ticketcorner that supply admission tickets to entertainment and sporting events increasingly rely on Internet-based ordering systems. Although paper tickets are largely copy and forgery-proof due to various characteristics, this is not the case for print@home tickets. Therefore, Ticketcorner needed a solution that could reliably read and accept ticket blanks, print@home tickets and print@bank tickets at the entrances to events. The company decided upon a mobile admission system, using hand-held data capture devices. These had to be able to read the 1D and 2D codes of the tickets. They also needed to be equipped with GPRS, WLAN and Bluetooth interfaces to enable online comparisons of ticket data with stored information.
