Successful Launch: DENSO's Innovative AT30Q

DENSO’s innovative AT30Q scanner was just recently intro-duced onto the market. The successful launch of the new scanner is based upon its outstanding operability, overwhelming scanning performance coupled with various scanning functions, and its robustness and durability. Furthermore, the latest DENSO scanner won the iF Design Award in the category “Product” and convinced the judges with its aes-thetics, practicability, usability and ergonomic design.

Sina Haupt, Marketing Assistant at the DENSO Auto-ID Business Unit, is excited about the launch: “The new AT30Q is a remarkable device and we are very proud of this scanner as it combines three major benefits – help sales expand in a store-front use, supports an easy touch scan modus and also helps provide a more stable and fast scanning of goods at the POS.”

The AT30Q scanner can be used independently at the POS; in retail stores for point cards and vouchers validation; at different medical sites for item control and medication confirmation; and in electronic factories for data collection during production. The AT30Q scanner has improved the operation time enormously by adopting a powerful reading algorithm which achieves ultra-high scanning speeds. The scanner even works for poorly printed labels – the scanning performance is realized by a unique scanning algorithm.

Sina Haupt is very pleased with the AT30Q’s outstanding operability: “Everyone can scan barcodes with this great new technology. There is no need to get used to scan items anymore as the AT30Q offers a smooth and trouble free reading performance.”

Additionally, the user-friendly curved grip makes it easy to take hold of the scanner and helps decrease the operator's workload. Another user-friendly feature of the linear and 2D Code scanner: The pointer scan mode makes it possible to capture only the targeted code indicated by the central marker even when multiple codes exist in the reading area. In addition, the one-time scan of multi-row barcodes is achieved, which means that the user can scan a barcode with up to three rows at a time.

Furthermore, it is possible not only to scan from a long distance, but also to touch scan. The new scanning device is able to replace 1D scan-ners and the users can take advantage of the scanning performance of both 1D codes and 2D codes with the same operational feel. “Another great feature of the new AT30Q scanner is the overwhelming 360 degree omni-directional scanning capability. The area sensor scan engine offers a stress free scanning operation without worrying about the barcode’s position. Therefore, the scanner is ideal for retail usage at the POS be-cause of its 360 degree scanning ability”, says Haupt.

Another strong argument for the AT30Q is that all data can be protected against fraud with the use of a special Secure QR Code (SQRC®) that the device can be programmed to read. The device supports the new Secure QR Code by DENSO so that private information is only readable for a selected audience.
