A2B Tracking Solutions Founder Receives Prestigious International Award
Peter M. Collins, Founder and President of A2B Tracking Solutions Inc., has received the prestigious ID People Leadership Award from the ID WORLD International Congress. The winners of this year's ID People Awards — the Oscars of the Auto ID industry – were revealed during the seventh ID WORLD International Congress, held in Milan, Italy in late November. Awards were presented at the annual ceremony in recognition of the contribution made by leaders, innovators and pioneering adopters who have distinguished themselves by their achievements during the past year.
The Leadership Award citation read as follows: "Peter Collins' leadership role at A2B Tracking Solutions, a pioneering company in bar code technology, has propelled the company into the forefront of automatic data capture solutions and ID initiatives. Since the US Department of Defense Unique Identification (UID) initiative was launched in 2003, Collins has worked closely with the DoD's UID policy office. Under his leadership, A2B Tracking has developed UID Comply!® data management software for which the US Army has granted a Certificate of Networthiness (CoN). Peter has quickly become recognized as one of this country's foremost experts in UID compliance, and A2B's products and services support defense contractors and US military installations throughout the world."
Collins, who was also a guest speaker at the Congress says, "This award is a tremendous honor for the whole A2B team. It was also my privilege to present the groundbreaking work of the DoD's UID leadership team to an international audience. Representatives of NATO and many European countries are anxious to get on board with integrating 2-D bar code and RFID for worldwide asset visibility."
Collins is a member of the AIM North America Board of Directors and was chosen to head the AIM UID Supplier Alliance sub-committee. He is a frequent speaker for national organizations including the National Property Managers Association, the National Defense Industrial Association, the Defense Acquisition University and the National Contract Managers Association. He is an extensive contributor to trade publications, on the subject of UID compliance and time-sensitive tracking utilizing automatic identification.
