Case Study: Batesville Casket Company Reduces Labor Costs With Cross-Docking And dcLINK®

Batesville Casket Company, a subsidiary of Hillenbrand Industries, is the nation's largest manufacturer and distributor of burial casket and cremation products. The company's Batesville, Indiana, plant produces 1,000 caskets a day. Worldwide, the company has over 3,500 employees and operates five plants in the United States. Batesville also has operations in Mexico, as well as over 80 distribution facilities in the U.S. and Mexico.

Batesville has implemented dcLINK in 40 warehouse locations and seven manufacturing locations to complete inventory transactions and various manufacturing processes. Following are excerpts from an interview with Diane Kinker, Director of ERP Applications for Batesville.
