Biorugged Enhances Border Control, Law Enforcement And Civil Registration With Elyctis ID Readers

Elyctis and BioRugged are happy to announce that BioRugged has selected Elyctis readers for its latest range of terminals dedicated to border control, law enforcement, elections and other professional ID applications.

Pertuis and Dublin (PRWEB) - BioRugged, a biometric systems expert, makes its specialty to propose devices designed to fit the requirements of ID market segments, including border control, law enforcement and elections. The company introduces its new product range for border control with a peculiar attention to the usual workflow of border control officers. Using a “form follows function” approach, the company designed its mobile solution analyzing the day-to-day operations in border control in many countries. BioRugged highly integrated BioWolf DEZ takes all these requirements into account. As an example, it allows the border control officer to hold the reader and the passport in one hand while keeping the other hand free. This design performance could only be achieved thanks to the compact form factor and ease of integration of Elyctis ID BOX One readers which provide MRZ, contact and contactless reading functions for all types of ePassports and eID cards.

BioRugged Marque 5.1 stationary multimodal biometric enrolment station, which provides all necessary features for biometric enrolment (fingerprint scanner, camera with LEDs for lighting, document scanner) is now also available with an integrated Elyctis ID BOX One document reader, which reads the MRZ, contact and contactless interfaces of all ID documents. Due to its small form factor and its specific design, it is ideal for use in any border control booth.

As BioRugged only serves professional needs via its international integrator network, the decision to integrate Elyctis readers became self-evident: the Elyctis ID BOX One ticks all the boxes when it comes to professional requirements. Not only it guarantees a fast reading of ID documents, but it has demonstrated compatibility with all types of ePassport and eID cards. Elyctis ID readers have been developed considering the specific conditions of reading ID documents, something that can only be achieved with a dedicated RFID chip and firmware. To fit with ID reading requirements, Elyctis readers have a very small footprint that makes their integration easy. In addition, Elyctis firmware, ID BOX SDK, which is delivered free of charge to integrators, guarantees an easy integration process for terminal developers.

Arnd Langguth, CEO of BioRugged, declares: “Elyctis ID readers are proven to be the best fit for border control applications: they have been tested and validated to read fast and accurately all chips and all passports. Elyctis not only provides reliable, cost effective and easy to integrate readers, but also an outstanding support for hardware and software integration. They are recognized and used by Government authorities worldwide.”

Alexandre Joly, CEO of Elyctis, adds: “We’re very happy to have been selected by BioRugged, a company with an excellent reputation for designing ruggedized yet user-friendly professional terminals, for their new border control device range. Unlike smartphone developments, our half-page readers are totally adapted to professional applications as they include a dedicated MRZ scanner which is able to read MRZ lines without movement in any circumstances and environmental conditions (dark, sunlight), and a dedicated RF chip (not a standard NFC reader as those common in smartphones).”
