CYBRA Announces IBM iSeries Support For Paxar SNAP 500 Two-Sided Fabric Care Label Printer
CYBRA Corporation, developer of MarkMagic 5.1 Bar Code Label, RFID Tag, and SM@RT Forms software for IBM iSeries (AS/400) servers, has announced support for the Paxar SNAP 500 printer, an in-plant, electronic, thermal transfer care label printer designed to print one-sided or two-sided labels on coated, satin and heat seal tapes.
The SNAP 500 printer was designed to meet the increasingly complex needs of the apparel manufacturing industry by providing an economical, easy-to-use, and low maintenance printing solution. The tabletop printer offers a simple and intuitive design, easy supply and ribbon replacement by the operator, remote diagnostics and upgrades, and voice prompts, all with an affordable price and low operation costs. MarkMagic is the only labeling software that supports this printer on IBM iSeries (AS/400) systems.
Support for more than 300 printer types
"We are responding to our apparel manufacturing customers who spend a fortune getting care labels from a service bureau," says Harold Brand, president of CYBRA Corporation. "The combination of the SNAP 500, and MarkMagic software for the IBM iSeries gives our customers a money-saving, in-plant care label solution with the same software they can use to replace pre-printed forms, print thermal UCC128 shipping labels and hang tags, and drive all their printing needs, including RFID smart labels. MarkMagic supports more than 300 different printer types.
The SNAP 500 printer prints small text, care symbols, bar codes, and logos on a variety of label tapes, including basic coated fabric tapes, polyester satin tapes, integrated fabric labels, and heat seal labels. It prints on one or two sides of the tape, and cuts and stacks the labels. Features which allow better print quality include automatic centering of the supplies through the printer and automatic electronic tension controls of the tape and ink. The SNAP 500 care label printer prints up to 2 inches wide. It handles labels between 0.5 to 2.25 and lengths of 1 to 13.875. The basic model includes the printer, simple down stacker, software and installation. An integrated finishing station is available as an option.
The MarkMagic SNAP 500 support, which was written in Java, requires the latest modification level of MarkMagic 5.1, and the OS/400 V5R1 or later version of the iSeries operating system.
