Donaldson Filtration Chose DLoG Fork Truck Computers From Barcode-IT
Donaldson Filtration, a worldwide supplier of filtration systems to the automotive, aviation and defense industries, has chosen DLoG MTC 6 truck mounted computers, supplied by Barcode-IT for their JD Edwards based warehouse management system. Donaldson have been working with Barcode-IT since 2003 and over this period they have purchased all kinds of barcode printing, scanning and data capture terminals.
The latest purchase of DLoG computers was made following an extensive on-site trial of DLoG computers. All seven DLoG MTC 6 terminals are mounted onto a mixture of Jungheinrich and Linde fork lift trucks, which manage the flow of goods in the warehouse in Hull, connected to a JD Edwards ERP system running on IBM AS 400. The new DLoG computers allow the truck drivers to communicate with the warehouse management system in real time. Ensuring that pallet movements into and out of the warehouse are quickly and efficiently completed and that the warehouse location and pallet barcodes are checked with the ERP system instantly. This avoids picking and put-away errors and improves efficiency throughout the warehouse and gives managers up to date information on the state of warehouse transactions.
