Honeywell Unveils New Warehouse Computer

Technology manufacturer Honeywell has announced the Thor VM3, its new vehicle-mounted computer, is shipping to Australia and New Zealand.

According to the company, the warehouse computer is designed for distribution centres, manufacturing facilities and freight operations, and runs the Windows CE platform.

"It includes the largest display available in a Windows CE platform vehicle-mount computer, while equipping operators with the legacy Thor features, including a quick-mount Smart Dock and field-replaceable front panel, to allow greater worker productivity, minimise support costs, and maintain compliance with all IT policies," Honeywell says.

"The VM3 offers the latest security and productivity-enhancing features and functionality to maximise efficiencies in activities such as case picking, truck loading, putaway and replenishment."

Powered by a dual core 1.5GHz Intel processor, the VM3 can hold up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of solid state disk space, and supports WWAN for use out of reach of a Wi-Fi network.

A screen defroster is available for cold environments and a screen blanking feature is an option for vehicles in motion.

Weighing 3kg, the Thor VM3 measures 31.8cm x 26cm x 6.2cm.
