HowGood Announces New Mobile Application

More Accessibility to Sustainable Food Ratings with Richer Features and Functionality

New York, (PRWEB) HowGood, a leading consumer data company and developer of the world's largest database of sustainable food and consumer products ratings, today announced a new version of their mobile application. On the heels of a successful launch with Giant Food of Landover, Md., (a division of the Ahold-Delhaize Company), HowGood will continue to provide consumers with easy access to information on food products that have the highest standards of environmental and social impact including sustainability, fair wages for employees, ethical animal treatment and more.

This new release allows every consumer access to the world’s largest database of sustainable food, encouraging smarter purchasing decisions wherever they shop. If your local grocer doesn’t have HowGood ratings on the shelves it does not matter—you can still access ratings for over 200,000 products from your smartphone. The mobile app is intended for use by all consumers allowing access from anywhere to HowGood’s database, simply by scanning a barcode and learning the details behind the ratings. Now, consumers will see ratings separated between “Good”, “Great” and “Best” with color coding that matches exactly what shoppers see on the shelf. This new, streamlined experience features more in depth research around the food products we consume and explores practices within varying levels of the supply chain.

“The HowGood mobile app helps people vote with their dollars,” said Alexander Gillett, CEO and cofounder of HowGood. “Our ratings are like nothing else out there – we help shoppers buy better by letting them know which food products have responsible practices. In addition, HowGood alleviates shopper concerns of greenwashing tactics and legitimacy claims via our extensive research and data aggregation of over 350 independent sources into a simple, positive rating.”

Key Features of the App Include:

  • Ratings of Good, Great, Best among hundreds of thousands of brands
  • Ability to scan or search for the best products in your grocery store
  • Featured product lists highlighting foods made by industry leaders in sustainability
  • Improved search functionality with the added ability to filter by product category
  • Insights into product specific ratings with clear explanations of research metrics
  • Upgraded scanning capabilities to more easily access ratings with smartphone camera
  • Intuitive design allowing for an enhanced user experience

HowGood has rated over 200,000 products, with only 5% of the industry earning the highest rating. The in-store ratings can be found on the shelves of hundreds of stores across 26 states and are also accessible via iTunes and Google Play.
