Merchant Data Systems Expands New Merchant Services To Hawaii

ref

Honolulu, Hawaii (PRWEB) Since 1997, the payment gateway Merchant Data Systems (MDS), with headquarters in Miami Beach, Florida, has extended its services to nearly every state; and now, Hawaii merchant services are available. The work of the gateway involves authorizing payments made to online or offline companies, and merchandising software that enables clients to accept credit cards run by their buyers.

Such services are invaluable, as in this era you basically cannot be in business without having an online presence to expand your customer range, and with the exception of some “cash only” enterprises, all businesses sell on credit, for they can make more money than they could if they did not do so.

Any businessman, whatever the type of company he owns and runs, will benefit greatly from having anonline merchant account with MDS; and this fact is well demonstrated by the variety of companies that have used their products: They range from retail stores and restaurants to charities, and MDS even has special services that are offered to a specific type of company. With mail and telephone order companies, for instance, MDS provides fraud protection, address verification services, installment billing database programs, and multiple hardware and software options. For Internet companies, there are web design, ecommerce hosting, and encrypted processing. And all clients have the benefit of low rates charged for services rendered.

Only “state of the art” equipment is sold at Merchant Data Systems. Credit card terminals that you can get at MDS include the simpler Verifone and the more complex and sophisticated Hypercom, which has more kinds of features.

As mobile credit card processing is becoming an increasingly popular method of accepting payment by merchants while they are “on the go,” MDS has introduced an innovative new device called the ROAMpay card reader, which comes in the form of a small, half-moon shaped device with a slit in the middle and a clip on the bottom, so that it can be attached to the user’s smartphone (it is compatible with iPhone, Blackberry, Bluetooth, and practically every other line).

All of the credit card machines described above will work just as well with debit cards, and MDS makes no distinction between the two. Many customers, in fact, prefer to use debit cards, simply because they are easy to obtain: The applicant does not need to have a good credit history (thus people who are new to the world of banking often obtain debit cards instead), the amount of the transaction is deducted from the bank account to which it is connected so that the resulting balance may be viewed immediately, and no interest is accrued on the payment. There are, however, a number of disadvantages as well, such as less time to report a stolen card, the difficulty of disputing charges, and the holder’s being responsible for any payments made by the culprit.

The owner of an MDS merchant account may also accept “echecks,” which are just like conventional checks, made out and signed online. Two gateways are present to help business owners accept cards and checks — Merchant Data Gateway and First Data Global Gateway. The latter is much more sophisticate; it connects both seller and customer to whatever payment method they choose, also including Paypal. When the customer buys something, whether in person, by phone, or online, a secure Internet connection captures his information and submits it to First Data so it can be processed. First Data then passes the information securely to the customer’s payment issuer (bank or check processor) to be approved or declined and subsequently relayed back to First Data. The entire process takes only a few seconds. If the sale is approved, the funds are transferred from the customer’s account to that of the seller. All data is secure with the gateway. More than 100 million transactions every year are processed by them.

Like all online companies, MDS has customer support working 24/7 to help customers with their problems. And seven months ago, they announced a merger with Karma Snack that will be known as MDSSEO (search engine optimization—using keyword frequency to draw potential customers to the website through search engines).

Few credit card processing companies can match MDS’s reputation for quality, timely delivery, or what have you. They have always lived up to their motto, “Let us have a successful and profitable relationship.”
