Mojix® STAR™ Wins Best In Show Award From RFID Journal LIVE! 2008
Mojix® recently announced that the Mojix STAR™ system was selected as the winner of the "Best in Show" award at RFID Journal's sixth annual conference and exhibition, held last week in Las Vegas. Mojix was one of ten finalists selected by an independent panel of five judges from more than 40 submissions. Each finalist presented its case at the event and attendees rated all products presented. The judges determined a winner with input from attendees.
"There was near unanimity in the voting, so attendees and judges saw the Mojix STAR system as a big step forward in the evolution of passive UHF systems," said Mark Roberti, Founder and Editor, RFID Journal. "The award was created to showcase the best new RFID products, and we clearly did that this year."
"The response to Mojix at RFID Journal LIVE! was overwhelmingly positive, and we are honored to receive this award," said Ramin Sadr, Founder and CEO, Mojix, Inc. "After years of development and testing of the Mojix STAR, we are proud to offer a revolutionary new class of RFID system that enables unprecedented levels of precision and scalability in supply chain management and asset tracking."
The EPCglobal® GEN 2-compliant Mojix STAR system radically redefines the performance parameters of passive RFID by combining advances in digital signal processing technology perfected in deep space applications with an innovative architecture. The system delivers 100,000 times the indoor receiver sensitivity of previous solutions, 20 times the read range (600 feet), and 100 times the coverage area (up to 250,000 square feet) with non line-of-sight capabilities. The Mojix STAR is the first system to offer the ability to read tags, determine location, and secure and authenticate passive tag data in one multi-faceted, multiple purpose system, which greatly lowers cost of deployment and extends the utility of an organization's investment in RFID.
Mojix conducted a widespread customer field trial program over the last year with more than a dozen organizations to demonstrate, test and deploy the broad utility and end-user advantages of the Mojix STAR system. From trailer tracking in a yard to tracking DVDs in a major electronics retail chain, the field trial program covered broad applications of passive and semi-passive RFID technologies, including re-usable pallet and container management, promotions visibility in grocery/retail, perpetual inventory in apparel, asset management, and more. In each case, studies found that the enhanced range and broad coverage area of the Mojix STAR system provided new capabilities for cost-effective, wide area RFID deployment using standard EPC RFID tags, even in challenging radio environments.
Created in 2007, the RFID Journal Awards highlight the best RFID projects from around the world. The "Best in Show" award was added this year to showcase some of the best new products exhibited at RFID Journal LIVE! 2008.
