RELM Wireless Introduces Professional-Grade RELM/BK RM800 Mobile Radios
Robust Features, VHF and UHF Models, 512 Channels
RELM Wireless Corporation (AMEX:RWC) today introduced the latest additions to its professional-grade RELM/BK series of radios, the RMV800 and RMU800 mobiles designed for public safety emergency response and coordination as well as other government and commercial applications.
"The rugged, versatile RM800 mobiles complement the RELM/BK RP 3000 and RP 3600 portable radios, broadening the RELM/BK product line first introduced a year ago," said RELM President and CEO David Storey. "The RELM/BK product line combines the best of both worlds: the rich and robust features and solid reliability long associated with our top-tier product line, BK Radio, along with the lower costs embodied in our basic business-grade RELM-brand product line. The new RELM/BK RM800 mobile radios exemplify the RELM advantage."
The new RELM/BK RM800 mobile radios have 512 channels with 256 programmable zones. The RELM/BK RMV800 operates in the 136-174 MHz VHF frequency range, and the RELM/BK RMU800 operates in the 450-512 MHz UHF frequency range. A 5-watt audio output and voice compander assure exceptionally strong and clear audio quality while an optional 12-watt amplifier can be used for public address systems or situations with distracting noise.
RELM/BK RM800 radios are PC- and front-panel programmable and feature backlit LCD displays. Icons are easy to read, programming is intuitive and each channel and zone can be programmed to meet specific requirements. Additional features include a built-in 1200/2400 bps MSK modem for data transmission, a built-in scrambler plus wireless cloning and FLASH technology for automatic radio programming and updates.
"Our newest product line, RELM/BK, offers both mobile and portable radios in VHF and UHF models, plus base stations and repeaters, all with high-end functionality at lower cost than comparable products," Storey commented.
