Rodgers will offer strategies and real world experiences with the latest anti-counterfeiting approaches – authentication, serialization, RFID and electronic pedigrees. As companies prepare their California ePedigree and serialization compliance programs, this session will address the strategies available to serialize prescription drugs and enable trading partners to authenticate electronic product codes (EPC), as well as discuss the benefits of authenticating drugs electronically. Rodgers will also present a case study on the largest drug authentication in production today – Pfizer's authentication of Viagra .

In this presentation, Rodgers will provide an overview of pedigree requirements. The EPCglobal Drug Pedigree Messaging Standard will be reviewed, along with the processes used to define and ratify the standard. Rodgers will discuss the enabling technologies for pharmaceutical product and transaction security. The presentation will conclude with the strategic benefits that can be realized from pedigree supply chain master data.
About Dirk Rodgers
Rodgers is responsible for leading SupplyScape's involvement in industry standards initiatives, and has spent more than 20 years as a technology and operations strategist in pharmaceutical supply chain collaboration and systems integration. Prior to SupplyScape, he was a senior systems architect for supply chain solutions at Cardinal Health, where he was responsible for developing Cardinal's ePedigree strategy.
Over the past five years, Mr. Rodgers has spearheaded numerous EPCglobal standard work groups, made up of industry stakeholders and solution providers. He is co-chairman of the EPCglobal Software Action Group (SAG) Drug Pedigree Messaging Working Group. He also served as co-chair of the Drug Pedigree Messaging Joint Requirements Group (JRG) and co-chairman of Healthcare and Life Sciences (HLS) Track & Trace Working Group, and was an active member in the HLS Information, Process, and Serialization work groups.
