SandCherry Announces SandCherry Voice Tools (SVT) For Eclipse

Simplifying VoiceXML Application Development and Testing

SandCherry, Inc. announces the immediate availability of the SandCherry Voice Tools (SVT) for Eclipse. Developers building web and mobile data solutions using Eclipse will now be able to create interactive voice applications for enterprise mobility solutions, automated customer service solutions, and consumer services which can be delivered to desktop phones, mobile phones, 2-way radios, PDAs, or PCs. SandCherry's Voice Tools provide a complete development and test environment for VoiceXML applications with features that include source editors for VoiceXML and Grammar (SRGS) files, audio tools, and testing tools for speech grammars and Text-To-Speech (TTS). SVT also includes an interactive debugger that lets developers set break points and step through both static voice applications and dynamically generated voice applications using applets and Java Server Pages (JSPs).

SVT includes the SandCherry SoftPhone allowing developers to call their applications using standard PC microphones and speakers thereby avoiding the hassle and expense of setting up specialty telephony hardware.

"The open source frameworks provided by the Eclipse foundation have enabled an incredibly powerful environment for advanced application development, but one of the major holes has been the lack of integrated tools that extend the advanced capabilities offered by Eclipse to voice application development," said Brian Marquette, chief technology officer at SandCherry. "SVT extends Eclipse to provide a full-featured voice application IDE. The debugging tools and the interactive debugger significantly reduce the testing and tuning steps involved in voice application development."

Developers can download free 30-day evaluation copies of SVT at www.sandcherry.com.
