Warehouse Control System: "SmartMoves" In Warehouse Control
Tech King Operations, the Software and Controls Engineering company that developed "Champ", the high performance, PC based, distribution conveyor control system announces "SmartMoves" Warehouse Control System (WCS).
"SmartMoves" is a full suite of WCS features, which integrates with a company's existing inventory system, for controlling warehouse activities and material handling equipment. These features are now available without the need for an expensive and complex Warehouse Management System (WMS) or a whole new enterprise system.
Adding "SmartMoves" to any business system that doesn't control warehouse activities, provide a paperless environment or integrate material handling hardware, can transform the largest or the most basic warehouse operation into a modern, efficient, distribution environment."
Most business systems today can keep track of basic inventory and can create an order for shipping goods to a customer. But, ask it to increase warehouse productivity by doing batched RF picking, support a forward pick zone or control a high-speed sortation system, and you'll be out of luck. Many WMS systems don't do all these things either, but you can by adding "SmartMoves".
Michael VanderMolen, President of Tech King, says, "Our clients have been using our "Champ" system to control their high-speed sorters and conveyors. At there request, we have identified and developed upstream functionality that will help them improve their order fulfillment productivity and accuracy, and maximize their system throughput."
"The results of these developments have been compiled into a new high performance Warehouse Control System that is highly scalable and configurable. "SmartMoves" helps control warehouse activities and devices that are inside the value stream and minimize ones that aren't," says Phil Borgemenke, Chief Technical Officer, "and we have made it very scalable and therefore, very affordable.
