Wasp Barcode Technologies Clicks With Staples UK, Placing Barcoding Solutions At The Office Superstore's Retail Outlets
For the first time, barcoding solutions are making an appearance in 86 Staples retail stores in the United Kingdom. Wasp Barcode Technologies is placing a variety of products on the shelf at Staples, including WaspNest, a barcoding starter kit designed to enhance productivity at small and medium-sized businesses.
"Business owners in the United Kingdom already rely on Staples for easy solutions that improve their companies' operations," said Richard Haigh, senior category manager for Staples UK Retail Ltd. "The addition of Wasp barcoding products in these stores will provide customers with another option for driving productivity and sending more profits to the bottom line."
WaspNest is a value-packed suite that includes a barcode scanner, barcode labeling software, and tracking software for basic stock control and asset tracking. Staples also will carry a Wasp CCD barcode scanner, as well as WaspLabeler, software that can be used to quickly create and print barcode labels for product, stock, shipping and mailing labels.
To celebrate the new partnership, Staples and Wasp are launching the offering with an eye-catching in-store display and special limited-time introductory promotion. The special promotion applies to all customers who purchase WaspNest at a Staples store in the UK. Any customer who purchases WaspNest will receive a Wasp WPL330 barcode label printer for free - a GBP 49 value. This special printer promotion is valid until May 16, 2008, or while supplies last.
"More than ever before, business owners are interested in buying technology products from office superstores like Staples," said Hugh Furness, European sales manager of Wasp's United Kingdom division. "Now customers can view the large Wasp display and learn about our barcoding solutions right in their local office superstore. And with the WaspNest/WPL300 printer promotion, we're created a compelling offer that should motivate business owners to start barcoding."
Wasp's own customer research confirmed the largely unmet need for barcoding solutions among small and medium-sized business owners and discovered the unique affiliation business owners have with their local office superstores like Staples.
"Our research exposed rapidly growing interest and purchasing intent of our technology solutions at office superstores," said Grant Wickes, vice president of marketing at Wasp. "Having solutions on the shelves at Staples will be a great benefit to the hundreds of thousands of business owners who regularly visit and purchase from Staples because of convenience and trust."
