Right now, 45 states and 2 Canadian provinces issue driver licenses with 2-D
bar codes. By May of 2008, all of them will do so. The DoD and all federal agencies currently issue access cards to employees, retirees, and dependents with the same kind of 2-D bar codes. The International Civil Aviation Organization has likewise issued standards for identity cards that use 2-D bar codes.
